I AND ME

I AND ME is a denim and lifestyle brand based in Hackney, East London, UK.

Founded on the primary aim of delivering contemporary solutions for both men and women, I AND ME London surpasses seasonal trends by developing garments to withstand the test of time.

Good things go with good things. This really feeds into what I am trying to achieve with I AND ME. The clothes are appropriate for all seasons, they are not defined by seasonal trends because they are functional, well made, they layer well and sit among a wardrobe as staples. The collections are predominantly key wardrobe staples complemented by statement pieces. The collections are standalone, but are designed to blur into one another, from the colour palettes to the silhouettes; my aim is to build individual collections that fit within a much bigger story.

By combining bold new colours and textures with the core denim staples that have shaped our seasonless and gender neutral story to date, BETTER WITH U extends the I AND ME offering into a new playful and animated realm; befitting of the genre defining, nomadic spirit of a generation.

Form, fabric and function are central to every part of the story. ‘AS DAYDREAMS GO’ draws upon the hardiness and versatility of key denims and premium jersey; swapped, traded, bargained, saved; fabrics that thrive when worn, marked, layered and loved.

A place in time, before the Internet, when word of mouth (usually from older brothers or sisters) put you on to things you had never heard, felt or seen before. And when the everyday was defined by learning more about a new obsession by any means.

Inspired by a series of case studies of contemporary artists and their in-house studios, LAS CASAS explores the concept of home and the notion that “good things go with good things”.

The work of land artists Christo and Jeanne Claude inspired us to explore the use of fabric in landscapes as a means of installation. As shelter and as camouflage. Moreover, as uniform. The collection embraces the methods employed in military wear to optimise every inch of fabric in the construction of garments, but moreover, the placement and execution of every feature.

Born on a road trip across Japan spanning Autumn last year, inspired by the endless life encountered in every city, but moreover, the boundless beauty between and among the small towns and provinces peppering the countryside, the collection is driven by the limitless form and function present throughout Japanese life...

I AND ME’s debut collection pays homage to the coastal towns of Britain; towns that hibernate when the sun doesn’t shine, with a particular focus on when the crowds don’t flock and few remain, in quiet stasis waiting on the sunshine to return..
