Collaboration with photographer George Muncey for his debut solo show ‘Doughnut City’ at @theprintspace, London.
Described as an exploration into “cycles; and feeling trapped in a commuter town, being stuck, alone and unable to leave to be the person that you want to be”, we accompanied George’s images with prose presented as litter-picked relics found flapping in the wind on some level-crossing fencing.
Having originally written one passage for each of the seventeen final images; we ended up whittling them down to six key passages that spoke loudest. The final pieces were handwritten on found paper (including a wonderfully dirtied shoe/boot/sneaker trodden A4 piece on the streets of Soho, some discarded hotel stationary, and a greasy Lebanese chicken shop napkin found near a drain by Elephant and Castle station).
