AS DAYDREAMS GO
Truly a labour of love, and the result of an extraordinary couple of years, our seventh collection ‘AS DAYDREAMS GO’ blends home grown narratives with an intercontinental spirit drawn from dreams of adventures across the globe.
Form, fabric and function are central to every part of the story. ‘AS DAYDREAMS GO’ draws upon the hardiness and versatility of key denims and premium jersey; swapped, traded, bargained, saved; fabrics that thrive when worn, marked, layered and loved. Comprising four key denim leads; Indigo, Worker Blue, Plant Dyed Stripe and Woven Check, ‘AS DAYDREAMS GO’ further highlights the silhouettes we love with new introductions via the means of textures, fabrics, colour and cutting edge sustainable techniques.
*Indigo showcases signature pieces made from an organic 'Candiani' selvedge-denim produced by the “greenest denim mill in the world” in Milano, Italy, featuring brand new styles such as the debut high-rise Baggy Jean, a Selvedge Patched Jacket available in Classic Vintage and Bleach Wash and a reworked version of the best-selling Chore Jacket.
*Worker Blue conveys a purple cast appearance, highlighting the drape and softness of ridged denim across aforementioned styles, in addition to a signature Boilersuit.
Texture and colour are abundant across *Plant Dyed Stripe and *Woven Check, offering timeless patterns in striking colour ways. Plant Dyed Stripe celebrates an array of colours using 100% natural plant dyes to achieve subtle hues that feature across classic styles such as the Chore Jacket, Hooded Smock, Dungarees and Slim Leg Jeans. *Woven Check sees geometric patterns and ozone washed fabrics combined to present styles such as the Oversized Shirt and the newly launched Baggy Jeans silhouette.
Additionally, the latest collection sees new Organic brushed Jersey styles available in muted Cassis Pink and Black, available in both an Oversized Sweatshirt and Track Pant.
PREMIUM FABRICATIONS
Careful consideration goes into sourcing specialist fabrics that have a special, traceable story. For example, Indigo fabrics are bought from a Japanese mill who uses original Toyota shuttle looms to weave the material as well as using dying colours that stem from the Edo Period in Japan.
RESPONSIBLE MANUFACTURING
Investment into progressive factories that utilise machinery that reduces water usage by 50%, chemicals by 60% and energy by 70%. Small runs and clever re-use of materials promotes a more efficient approach with a large reduction in wastage.
RAW DENIM
A high percentage of garments are created using raw and unwashed denim which uses no artificial treatment techniques; no added water, chemical or electrical usage AT ALL during production.
OZONE TECHNOLOGY
‘Ozone technology’ is used as an alternative treatment to water, utilising high-pressure air to create various denim washes.
PLANT DYES
Botanical and plant dyes feature across denim, jersey and accessory ranges. I AND ME work with a small denim mill based in India who have been recycling their wastewater since the 90s to irrigate the gardens where they grow the raw materials for their dyes.
ORGANIC COTTON
Fair-trade and GOTS organic cotton
More organic fabrics have been introduced into the range across the denim and jersey categories.
